Eurasian Curlews were in the definite minority compared to Far Eastern's, but they could be picked out of the crowd. This was easiest as the birds were coming into the high tide roost, where the extensive white on the rump, lower back, flank, and underwings of the Eurasian were visible in flight. The whiter look was also visible as the birds rested, as shown here.
