South Korea is a great place for wintering Geese, with at least 6 species regular. Bean and Greater White-fronts form the majority of the geese, as pictured here. Two distinct forms of Bean Geese occur, 'serrirostis', the small-billed tundra form (pictured here), and 'middendorffi', a larger, larger-billed taiga subspecies. Luckily, the one lingering flock of geese we found at Seosan contained both forms. We had hoped for Swan Goose, with no luck.
