The larger groups of red among the tidal shorebird roosts were invariably Bar-tailed Godwits. The mix of colors among the east Asian shorebirds was breathtaking. From the red of Godwits and Dunlins, and the occasional Red Knot, to the stunning mix of black and chestnut of Great Knots. The stints, redshanks, etc. also make a stunning contribution.
