The Black Ducks in the foreground are accompnied by a drake Mallard x Black Duck hybrid. In this fuzzy photo, notice the curled tail feather and largely greenish head of this otherwise Black Duck. These birds were photographed at Britton Ford, which has the largest wintering group of Black Ducks that I know of locally. These hybrids are here every year as well, often more than one.
