This poorly-lit image shows the distinctive profile of an alert Pacific to good effect. Unfortunately the white foreneck and breast were totally lost in the photo. Notice the long, smoothly rounded neck and rounded head, this gives the bird a look reminescent of the stance of a cobra. Also note again that the bill is small and straight.
