Definite highlight of the day were great side-by-side comparisons of both of our Dowitchers in full breeding regalia, with Long-billed on left here. Most obvious here is the difference in the markings on the upper breast and throat area, almost unmarked with only scattered spots on the upper breast of the Short-billed. The difference in back pattern, as well as the difference in bill length of these two particular birds.
