Highlight of the trip was looking up to see a flock of birds high overhead. My assumption, without glasses was Cormorants, though they weren't acting like Cormorants. As soon as I put my glasses us, they morphed into a flock of 24 Anhingas!

It has probably been 60 years since this many were seen in the State, back to the time good numbers nested at Reelfoot, such as 50 back in the late 30's. My personal high count was 4 birds, and most years I do good to get one bird.
