This gallery depicts a fantastic trip that Kevin Calhoun, Gary Brunvoll, Roger Clark and myself took to bird in Colombia during Feb. of 2013. We concentrated on the Santa Marta endemcis, and also the very dry coastal region of extreme northeast Colombia and the endemics and near-endemics shared with Venezuela there. A few days were also spent birding areas in the eastern Andes and Magdalana Valley from Bogota. Total species in 10 days of birding about 420, of which around 210 are presented in this galley. Some species have part of the name in parenthesis, these correspond to distinct groupings in the Clements Checklist.

Our trip was put together by Pablo Florez of http://multicolorbirdingcolombia.com/. We had John Kvarnbäck, a fantastic Swedish birder who now lives in Venezuela, for most of our trip and the key Santa Marta region. We spent a couple of days with Diana Balcazar around Bogota, and had Pablo himself for our last day up in the eastern Andes.
