Comet Holmes - 8 December 2007

The comet is still naked-eye visible and in Perseus. It has expanded to twice the apparent width of the full moon (in reality its gas cloud is larger than the sun!). Because of its expansion, this photo cannot be compared with the sequence I took in October & November because the crop I used for those would not now fit the comet in!

Canon EOS 20D ,Canon EF-S 17-85mm f/4-5.6 IS
Camera 'piggybacked' on a Celestron C8 telescope. 2 minute exposure at f5.6, ISO 800. I have cropped the original photo, but not heavily. hide exif
