Edinburgh is the second largest city in Scotland and has perhaps the most picturesque appearance with it's colorful history and collection of well preserved classic structures. There is a new town and old town section, with the new town area dating back to the 18th century.
The Edinburgh Castle is built on a rock formation with the summit at 430 feet above sea level. Less than a mile away is the royal Hollyrood castle, which is still used periodically by the Queen.
