Leaving the modern noise of Bagnoregio's traffic behind the loudest sound I heard on the walk over the viaduct was the braying of a donkey in the valley below.

The layers of rock are much more pronounced in the winter; I guess the summer sun hides them.

It's nicely ominous looking for a change. Like a haunted mountaintop with a sci-fi modern road going up to it. Surrealistic.
