The bowling meet up at the Bowlaway in Lindsay on June 9th 2013 was a great success. Everyone who
was there didn't show up except for 4 people. The place was opened at noon and was so quiet you could have heard a "pin" drop. We had trouble finding the owner who was in a back room so we thought that maybe the place was on "strike". The girls did fantastic as you can see by the score board. I was suffering from a flare up of my old "wore" wound from all those years on the road so I was the three legged bowler. Yes, things are getting better as I have the best chiropractor in the country. My score was 26 but I was getting good strikes and spares two and three lanes over. I was really hoping that Don and Larry would show up so that we could have a picture of the three of us holding our bowling balls. I kept the bowling puns going until the girls told me to "spare' them. We "framed" the rest of the day at the little Durham Cafe just down the street. Fantastic food at great prices with superb service! Lila made 6 iced muffins each for Joan and Gail for later when they got home. The weather was wonderful!
Sam the owner is a great guy, he made a whole pot of fresh coffee just for me. I believe his place has 16 or more lanes, 8 facing east and 8 facing west. It cost only 24 bucks for the four of us for one hour..wow! what a great price.
The place was built in 1963 so it is 50 years old and still has a lot of the same planning and decor as 1963. No one else showed up for the 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm that we were there, I was "bowled" over. For Sept or October we are going to set up some kite flying sessions at Rouge Park down the road from our place...I'm supplying the kites. Hopefully I can get one with a six to seven foot wing span along with some smaller ones. By then I should have my new GoPro camera so that we can see what transpires below the kite as it soars to your expert commands. See video. Go full frame before you eat. :) After the Kite Fest it will be back to Chuck and Lilas for some of our exotic teas with muffins before you head home.
Take care everyone!
See you in September? :)
Much Love.
Chuck and Lila
Hope you all enjoyed the report and for those who didn't go, thanks for being there in spirit. We'll keep you posted on our Kite Fest for the fall.
