Dawnottar Snow!

Dunnottar Castle, Stonehaven, Aberdeenshire

After waking a little later the last three mornings to see spectacular sunrises, but too late to shoot them
Pre-planning was the answer! Standing side by side with fellow PBasers Smit10pics & TinkerB
in anticipation of another cracking sunrise in the perfect location over historic Dunnottar Castle
and sods law … it never happened. I did capture this one in the pre-dawn light but could not decide
if it was better in the dawn blue colours or the monotone conversion …. Any opinions?

The Monotone conversion!

Shot later that afternoon

Glad I spotted these ~ both versions are great but my vote is for the blue for the emotional reasons. Also, I think the snow in the blue has more glisten which speaks to the mood. They are both great! V

Love them both but the blues get my vote Tony...BV

Both are great, love the hues in the colour but slightly prefer the mono for the tones and enhanced shadows.

I like the blue tones here - really conveys the cold and chill of winter...and it fits in nicely with your other recent photos from Footdee :o)

I am torn - but I think I prefer the B&W, a stronger image, and without the blue morning tinge
