We visited Bandera valcano and ice cave otherwise known as the Land of Fire and Ice. The Bandera volcano, still considered an active valcano rose up 10,000 years ago. It is 1200 feet across and 800 feet deep. As you walk back down the volcano one of the lava trails leads you to a collapsed lava tube known as the ice cave. Inside the cave, the temperature never reaches above 31 degrees F which allows the natural layers of perpetual ice to survive all year round : ) There were actually icicles...it was great!
