Beta test of "supportive seating" technology, used for clients with disabilities like Cerebral Palsy, to improve function and slow or stop the progression of scoliosis and joint contractures. A seating frame, to which modular postural support components can be attached, is placed inside a more or less standard wheelchair (system can be used outside of wheelchair as well). Clients who require less support, and whose mobility would be inhibited by the complex hardware, can be supported with soft foam inserts to the seatcushion and backrest instead of the frame-mounted components. Clients from either category can select "dynamic" chest and shoulder straps which stretch to a certain point before restraining motion.
