Arrived on Saturday morning to find the two chicks alone in the nest. No parent seen during the two hours I was there and an observer from across the lake said that the last time she had seen an adult heron on the nest was the prior evening and she was worried about them. I returned in the afternoon at 3:30 and remained until 6 and no parent ever arrived.
