Moving around the nest. New neighbors--a pair of Acorn Woodpeckers have been excavating a nest on the opposite side of the tree trunk from the heron nest and they were mating on the limb where the heron nest is, so it looks like the tree is going "condo" Also, the Red Shouldered Hawk nest was found and it is at the same level as the heron nest and is about 100 feet to the east of the herons. The female hawk was seen feeding small chicks this weekend.
