The biggest change I noticed all over Europe since I was there many decades ago is the number of rapeseed fields; they are everywhere. Rapeseed is used to make canola oil, but is especially important for biodiesel fuel, which people use much more in Europe than in the US. Farmers are subsidized for growing rapeseed.
