Main Foods Taken
In winter: variety of insects and larvae, spiders and their eggs, ants (Formicidae), and pseudoscorpions; a small amount of seeds and other vegetable matter (Martin et al. 1951, Williams and Batzli 1979b). Breeding season: same as winter, but possibly no vegetable matter eaten (Martin et al. 1951). Nestlings appear to be fed only insects (CKG). Will visit seed and suet feeders in winter.
