Right at the point where the bull nose brick patio touches the edge of the pond, this wondrous plant spreads its glory more and more each year.

Containing it might be good idea. It's such a beautiful groundcover. I was at my former yard this past weekend and noticed it has gone crazy because it's not being contained. If you don't want it to do that, just keep it cut back. Root system isn't that deep.
