Clarkes Gap on W&OD Trail

This was taken on the way to the trail's end in Purceville, VA.
Little did I know that coming back I'd crash and burn just the other side of this beautiful arch.

Constructed 1866-1867.
Carries Dry Mill Road over the Washington and Old Dominion (W&OD) Railroad Trail.
Formerly carried Virginia State Route 7 over the W&OD Railroad at the railroad's highest elevation.
