Birding Breaks Interstate Park

The Buchanan County (VA) Bird Club led a bird walk in the Breaks Interstate Park on the VA - KY border. It was a beautiful fall day with nice temperatures. We found 45 bird species icluding an Osprey, a Sharp-shinned Hawk, a Red-shouldered Hawk and 2 Red-tailed Hawks, 2 Yellow-billed Cuckoos, a Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, both White-eyed and Blue-headed Vireos, the first 2 Winter Wrens of the season, both Golden-crowned and Ruby-crowned Kinglets, a Veery, a Swainson's Thrush, a Wood Thrush, 5 Gray Catbirds, 5 Yellow-rumped Warblers, 3 Scarlet Tanagers and 5 White-throated Sparrows.
