Again I was asked by my employer Dura Vermeer to 'take some pictures', this time I was to act as the companies press photographer during Aquaterra, the world forum on Delta & Coastal Development, held in Amsterdam, The Netherlands on February 7 - 9, 2007.
After speeches by a.o. Mrs. Melanie Schultz van Haegen (Vice Minister of the Ministry of Transport, Public Works and Watermanagement) and Mr. Jeroen van der Sommen (Managing Director of the Dutch Water Partnership)His Royal Highness Prince Willem Alexander of The Netherlands executed the official openingsceremony.
Later that morning HRH Prince William of Orange visited the adjoining exposition, where he a.o. received a copy of the 'Bouwen met Water' researchproject from Mr. Age Vermeer, member of the Board of Directors of Dura Vermeer, and a copy of the 'Urban Flood Management' report from Mr. Chris Zevenbergen, managing director of Dura Vermeer Business Development, which he presented to HRH in his rôle as chairman of the European Union COST C-22 research committee.
Needless to say this photographer had a great day!
