The TOWANDA!-Tour starts in Christchurch with a trip to the beautiful remote coastline and tranquility of close-by Banks Peninsula. In Akaroa - the idyllic little township on Banks Peninsula we'll get the chance to swim with Dolphins! The very next day we'll reach the NZ-Alps with its glacier lakes of the most incredible blue - you have to see them to believe they are real! Not less than 14 named peaks over 2000m are forming the New Zealand Alps, of which Mt. Cook is the most stunning. The Maoris, New Zealand's first settlers, call him "Aoraki" , which means "cloud piercer". In Dunedin, a University town with a very cruisy atmosphere, we'll see penguins, sea lions, albatrosses and seals in their natural environment. Then we'll dive in the tranquility of world renown Milford Sound. Spectacular views, spectacular scenery, spectecular windy roads are waiting here for you - don't hesitate! Next we'll hit Queenstown, beautifully situated at the bottom of a remarkable mountain range and the shore of idyllic Lake Wakatipu. Life here is just an endless adventure: Bungi jumping, rafting, jet boat thrills, paragliding and whatever else your heart desires. Stunning scenery makes it hard to keep our eyes on the road while we are riding along the shore of two beautiful lakes. Climbing up the Haast Pass we'll reach the West Coast of New Zealand. The West Coast is simply naturally amazing. This will be a magnificent day - in sunshine, rain or hail. Two glaciers from the Southern Alps are nearly reaching the sea and can be admired not far from the main road. Glacierland also offers some lovely windy roads for us to take us to biker's heaven... After going on a Jade Discovery Walk we'll reach the Pancake Rocks of Punakaiki, one of the seven wonders Downunder. The next day we'll carry on to Nelson, the hallmark of a great place to spend your holidays. We'll go on a paddle tour through the most beautiful exotic spot, the Abel Tasman National Park. From here the South Island Tour goes back to Christchurch via the whale watch capitol Kaikoura
