On saturday, July 5th, Henry and I hiked the trail at Nyack Beach State Park, which runs right along the Hudson River, for about 2 miles. It starts our being fairly level and easygoing but towards the end, it turns into a rather steep climb, ending in a plateau where the trail ends. At that point, you are quite high above the Hudson River, with really beautiful views. But the view away from the river, into the woods, is even lovelier.
Deer everywhere, does with their babies, some hidden, some grazing with mom. Just before you reach the top of the trail, it splits in two, one is the dirt trail going to the top, the other a paved trail leading downwards towards the river for a few hundred yards. On this trail, I saw the mom and her baby :)
