Wall, SD.
As lonely as lonely could be, way back in the early years of the century.
But, an enterprising pharmacist Ted Hustead, and his wife Dorothy, a teacher,
settled here in Wall. Their business was hurting, no customers, no one even
stopped by. But one day, his wife stumbled upon the idea of getting people
to stop by their store. They would give away free ice water to all the weary souls,
travelling through the heat, dust and desolation of SD in the summer.
It worked, and soon they added "Coffee for 5c", to warm up those same travelers in winter.
To this day, Wall Drug sells coffee for 5c, and give away free ice water to those who visit their store.
It is now a booming business, a tourist attraction known literally worldwide for its coffee
and ice water. It's signs can be seen all over SD, wide and far in America, and even worldwide.
