David R. Miller Farm House

Sharpsburg, Maryland

The David R. Miller farm and especially the Miller cornfield were at the epicenter of the battle of Antietam. The carnage here was some of the worst of the entire war, with Antietam being the bloodiest day in American History. “There was a soldier killed or wounded every second for four hours straight”. This hallowed ground became the “bloodiest square mile in the history of the United States.” The David R. Miller farmstead is a true eyewitness to history.
