The M1857 12-Pounder Light Field Gun, Napoleon, was the most popular field artillery piece of the Civil War. Combining the features of a gun and a howitzer, the Napoleon was light, mobile, flexible, and most of all deadly. It's said that the Napoleon killed and wounded more men that any other weapon of the war.
