On Tuesday Central Pennsylvania experienced the first snowfall of the season. This image was taken on Red Rock Mountain about thirty miles north of my home. Red Rock Mountain and the surrounding plateau is at a much higher elevation than the surrounding country and is always colder and generally gets much more significant snows than our river valley. The plateau is almost all wildernesses with a state park as a key feature. The lake here in the photos is Lake Jean. The area is a favorite destination for me to find natural beauty and peace.
