Dusk to dusk, dawn to dawn a horses work is never done.

Spring is an exciting time on the Amish and Mennonite farms. I’ve been spending all my spare time there and enjoying it all immensely. The horse teams are now all out working in the fields getting ready for this years planting. I’ve been lucky enough to be involved in the day-to-day activities on the farms, and photographing as much as I can. One of the farmers has four of his Belgium draft horses that are pregnant and ready to give birth at any moment. They are mule sired and Belgium Draft horse mothers so they should be striking. They had this mix last year and they were the cutest foals ever. I’m hoping to get a chance to photograph the newborns. Lots of other things going on out there as well. For instance, one farmer is replacing part of his 1880s farmhouse with a new structure and I'm photographing the progress of that endevor. Next week off to an Amish/ Mennonite horse auction. Today one of the farmers and I went in search of a newly sighted rare owl. Didn’t see it yet but did see a lot of others beautiful birds. Anyway lots of new pictures coming soon. Ah….Spring!

Beautiful action shot! Where Humanity would be without the help of this and of course other wonderful animals? God in His eternal wisdom knew we need them, but sadly so many men are cruel to them.
