Mark George Tobey (December 11, 1890 – April 24, 1976) was an American abstract expressionist painter, born in Centerville, Wisconsin. Widely recognized throughout the United States and Europe, Tobey is the most noted among the "mystical painters of the Northwest." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Tobey
Another of the well-known abstract expressionists was Mark Tobey. This image reminded me of his work. I think it’s the “all over” quality of it. There is no reference to the edges. He like Pollack really influenced many artists who followed by the feeling in their works that the work didn’t begin or end. The work felt like a little piece of something bigger. Maybe going on forever?
