OMG!!!! Unbelievable Coincidence!

This is one of those million to one chances that occasionally happen when the planets align in strange ways. Last week I was out photographing at the junkyard again and this flatbed truck pulled in to sell its load of scrap metal as many many other trucks do in an almost endless parade. I was at the metal foundry taking pictures of the fire and brimstone, when I noticed this truck pull through with this brown van on it. I remarked to the guys standing there that I used to have one just like it, same color, and same model. I walked out to take a better look and the flatbed truck driver jumped out, looked at me and said…..”Damm, you sold me that van fifteen years ago!” It was my old van for sure. I bought it new nearly twenty-five years ago. I drove it new from the dealer’s lot. The truck drive told me he had put over three hundred thousand miles on the van and then let it sit out in a field for years, until he just decided to make a few dollars scrapping it. I was floored! The guys in the yard were amazed. What are the odds that with the millions of vehicles being constantly scrapped all over the place that I would just happen to be there taking pictures at this particular place on that particular day and spot this old rust bucket. I followed the final demise of the old girl from rust bucket to mashed cube of metal headed back to the steel mill to start life again as, uh? Well a Japanese car or a slab of the new anti immigration wall between Mexico and the U.S.? Who knows? I’d like to think that instead it might become a beam in the building being constructed on the site of the 911 attacks. I dream a lot. Anyway I’m not too sure if these pictures are anything more than snapshots from one man’s past, but I’ll post them here anyway. They make me smile, so forgive me for being so self-indulgent. Enjoy or ignore, it’s up to you but, but I’ve got a great big grin just seeing that old thing again. Regards.
