February 5

This might be a snowfall for the record books. The National Weather Service is reporting that the massive storm currently traveling up the East Coast has the potential to dump in excess of 30" of snow in the Washington DC region. The largest recorded snowfall for DC was back in January 1922 and was dubbed the "Knickerbocker" storm because it caused the roof of the Knickerbocker theater in DC to collapse, which resulted in 98 fatalities. That snowfall was measured at 28".

You've made it look like a magical world even if it is miserable to get around in. We've all been reading about this, of course. Hope you have lots of food at home. And no power outages!

Very moody winter shot. Superb atmosphere.
Hopefully nobody suffered too much from it.
Great composition though Mary!
