just looking for a subject for testing a snoot on.... didn't even get out the door, slap bang right there in the kitchen. The colour combination of the vase, plastic flowers, the walls and then the Yukata (summer kimono). I know it's not art but I know that I like it.

very little post processing, shadows boosted (yeh introduces lots of chromatic noise in the shadows but that was actually the intent), and a mild highpass.

the effect is in the shot:
30cm snoot aimed at the top of the lowest flower, snoot's center spot is little more than 5 cm at this distance, but lined with white gives a very soft fall off.

after a few standard shots I got bored and tried setting the strobe to interval and also zoming the lens during exposure. Strobe set to 10 cycles per second, so 5 flashes in this .5 second shot.
