This photo shows the difference between the intensity of reflections on the inward-facing side of the front IR window in a new-model QHY8 nosepiece as compared to the original nosepiece that came with my QHY8 (2008 vintage).

I've been plagued by halos around bright stars that are caused by an internal reflection in the QHY8 and ordered a replacement nosepiece in hopes that the newer one would have different glass that was less reflective.

The reflection on the left is from the new nosepiece; on the right is the original nosepiece. The two were side-by-side and I simply focused my DSLR on the reflection and snapped a photo. The intensity of the reflection is significantly less in the new nosepiece, which I'm hoping will translate into significant reduction in halos.
