Horsehead & Flame Nebulas, QHY8 First Light

ASKC Dark Sky Site

First light with the QHY8 CCD.

Taken at the ASKC Dark Sky Site under marginal conditions - poor seeing and gusty winds. Polar alignment of the CGE mount was done using the built-in Polar Align routine and yielded alignment accurate enough for these 8-minute exposures with only a little bit of field rotation visible at the edges of the frame.
