n5364_best_jpeg.jpg

NGC 5364 is a grand design spiral galaxy 54 million light
years distant and diameter similar to the Milky Way.
The distortion of the outer arm is thought to be due
to interaction with one of it's neighbors.
NGC 5363 at lower left is about 100,000 LY diameter
and 63 MLY distant. The visible dust lane extends into a
spiral structure in infrared which may indicate accretion
of another galaxy. NGC 5363 also appears to have an abundance
of globular clusters. NGC 5360 is the lenticular galaxy above
NGC 5364. It is about 51 million light years distant and
25,000 light years diameter.
