At 7:00 am we made it to the summit, 4.5 hours after setting off from the refugio. We were the first group to summit. I was in a group of three with Wayne and Hyme (our guide). We left our assistant guide in a snow hole beneath an ice ledge because he was suffering from the altitude. Marino and his guide were behind us and didn't actually make it to the top. Actually, only one other group (with 3 non-guide climbers) made it to the top, about 30 minutes after us. This is a picture of Wayne. He was totally rooted at the top and didn't feel like running around much.
