From a Different Age

Taken during a visit to Abbotsbury Gardens in Hampshire (England).

At first I rejected this image because of the blown-out highlights on the left side window frame. It was a quick grab shot, and to be honest I didn't take enough care in balancing the highlight and shadow information. However I'm glad I revisited this shot as I think it has an 'oldy England' feel about it. To give it this aged look I used a Topaz Adjust filter, then spent a lot of time dodging and burning the different areas of the image.

I know the purists will dismiss this picture because of the poor initial capture, but I like it, hence why I have added it to my gallery.

Very lovely composition, and lots of detail, especially the cobwebs!
