Workers in cold take pride Another b-b-blast
Londoners woke up this morning to temperatures even colder than forecast with the mercury having dropped to near -24 Celsius overnight.
And it looks like a return to what Environment Canada meteorologists call "seasonal norms" of -2 C highs and -9 C lows won't be back anytime soon.
Roads across the region are described as "partly snow covered" but there were no reports of any serious accidents or road closures.
School buses are running on schedule with no reported delays or cancellations.
The double-digit lows are expected to continue at least until Monday with highs reaching just -6 C Sunday and -9 C Monday.
Some snow is in the forecast every day.
The frosty greeting this morning will ease as the day goes on, climbing to -12 C with possible snow flurries beginning this morning, according to Environment Canada's website.
The sun will make an appearance at times, but clouds will return this afternoon and evening as temperatures again fall to -21 C with a wind chill of -25 C as light winds of 15 km/h arrive.
