Vässarö 140 km north of Stockholm was donated to the Stockholm Sea Scouts in 1942 by sea captain Ragnar Westin. His cargo ship was torpedoed in 1942 on the Baltic. Since then his charming island has been the home of Sea Scouts and school classes from all around the world.
