January 11: Finally some snow
Today it was almost winter. A fine cover of snow lay on the ground and on the trees during my second trip to Västerås this week.
January 9: A very gray day
Went to Västerås for a meeting. Thats about 100 km west of Stockholm. Drissle, windy and gray. Took this from the car window. No I wasn't driving.
January 8: Golden sunrise
Another beautiful morning ending in a rainy afternoon. A small detour to work resulted in this shot and a few others. The rest of the day was just hectic.
January 7: Västerbron a winter afternoon
Sun sets a little after 3 PM. At 4 PM it's getting realy dusky, but if you're lucky a nice blue colour on the sky and the water.
January 6: Red tears
A rather dull Saturday. Long ago this was a holiday witn no shops open. Now it's like almost any other Saturday. I went to town to buy a router.
June 5: Dirty white van
Finally Friday in the first working week of 2007. Saw this van on my way to the office this morning. It seemed to have had a hard week as well.
January 4: Three small sheds
Made a daytrip to Malmö in southern Sweden, ghastly weather with low clouds and rain. Visited an old industrial site to be rebuilt. Fantastic things to photo there, but not much time or any decent conditions today. If you like old junk look in my "Wrecks - The old and faithful left to rust" gallery: www.pbase.com/mark_elert/wreck
PS So far I been pretty busy with my lazy PAD. Four of Four. Old habits die hard.
January 3: Early birds
January mornings in Stockholm can be fantastic. There is a special light shining on the clouds forming overnight, the clouds slowly breaking up as the sun reaches them. Today I missed the "pink phase", but caught the yellow. An advantage with January is that you can sleep until 8 and still catch the sunrise. Yes, that's right I had a late start on the first working day of 2007.
January 2: After Christmas Sale shoppers
Drottninggatan in central Stockholm filled by eager shoppers to get what Santa didn't bring.
Janauary 1: Morning rain
Not much of a winter. 5 degrees C on New Years Eve and not a snow flake in sight. The smoke from the nights fireworks has blown away and the gunpowder is washed of by the morning rain.
