January 23: Sun and Halo over City Hall
Halo wtoh sun dogs this morning. Sun dogs or mock suns, are colored, luminous spots caused by the refraction of light by ice crystals in the atmosphere. These bright spots form in the solar halo at points that are 22 degrees on either side of the sun and at the same elevation as the sun. Typical for cold winter days in Sweden.

After a night with heavy snowfall Stockholm has changed it's "skin". Now it is Snowy white that rules.
January 20: Snow storm coming in
At six o'clock the snow started drifting in. It will be a white weekend!
January 18: Tearing down the bridge
The old passway to Mariebergsviadukten is teared down to give room for a new hotel. A lot of green space and a nice view will disappear as well.

Every other morning being windy and rainy and the next with a fabolous sunrise.

Several storms has passed over Sweden. Not to bad in Stockholm, but a lot of trees have blown down in Southern Sweden. And a new one is coming on Thursday. Hold on to your hat...

January 14: Cold morning in Umeå
Umeå, 600 km north of Stockholm is famous for it's wooden houses and birches. They were planted to reduce the risk of fires spreading. The whole town burnt down in 1888.
