Infra-red

The first series of images in this gallery are true infra-red shots taken on Maco IR820c Aura ISO100 B&W 120 film. These were all shot using a standard 4 stop Hoya red filter and the negatives were professionally drum scanned. Sadly, Maco have now discontinued the Aura version of their IR film. This film had no anti-halation layer which gives the images their "dream-like" quality.

The shot of Winskill Stones is different from the rest as it is a digital colour image that has been transformed to look like an IR shot. The shots of Gait Barrows limestone pavements were made with an infra red filter on a DSLR.
