I should have waited, but I couldn't. Looked up local stores on NikonUSA, and was able to walk into a store and purchase one off the shelf. Still getting used to each other, so far it seems like a fantastic camera. The D80 now feels like a toy in my hands (as the D50 did before it).

It seems to do everything right so far. So good, that I may consider shooting JPG again.
