Strictly speaking, the Mosel is a wine-growing region of superlatives. It is not only the oldest wine region in Germany, but also the most renowned. The main reason for this is the legendary steep slopes, which make up around 40% of the total vineyard area. The Mosel region is the largest steep-slope wine-growing region in the world.
