The Moselle is a river in northeastern France, Luxembourg and western Germany, a left-bank tributary of the Rhine.
The wine-growing region along the Mosel, Saar and Ruwer rivers is considered Germany's oldest wine region. The Romans brought viticulture to the Moselle on a grand scale.
