This was taken from the beach right outside the cottage where I stayed. This was my proof that the water really IS as blue and clear as they say it is.

This guy showed up within minutes of getting to the cottage. I thought he looked like a Fred, so his name stuck. He was with me the whole time. He got some necessary vet care and some good food. I got a promise from the folks who own the place that they'll take care of him; I'm hoping for the best.

One of the most popular and beautiful beaches on St. John. They have an underwater snorkel trail, where I went snorkeling for the first time. St. Thomas is in the background.

Lots of donkeys on St. John. I was lucky enough to catch a mother and child wandering around together one afternoon.

I have no idea what kind of tree this is, but the leaves are gorgeous.

These guys were crawling all over the sugar plantation. A plaque states that they secrete some stuff that can cause temporary blindness but is also used as a toothache remedy.

Not a terribly interesting place, but it has some history to it. The Gibney's sold part of their beach to Robert Oppenheimer (the hydrogen bomb guy) back in the 50s, and this is where he and his family used to vacation. It's now a recreation house that can be rented for parties.
