Foster, carved this 4 foot cedar log, inspired by the World War II poster of the first "Smokey the Bear".
The government distributed the poster up the BC coast in expectation that the Japanese, circa 1945, would use planes to ignite the BC forests. It then fell to citizens below, to put these forest fires out.
