There is a small unpretentious restaurant,
just around the corner, where we feel at home.
We say that it’s like going to visit an elderly aunt,
who can cook well.
The same a little old-fashioned atmosphere,
the same high quality of home cooked food…
All the people who work there are extremely kind,
without being formally mannered.
They know our tastes, our habits…
they brings us two free cups of excellent espresso
nearly every time we get there.
One of the cooks and I share the same birthday.
They remember that and when we went there,
the day before my birthday,
as we usually do at least a couple of times a week,
just for lunch, they offered us our meals.
“It’s because tomorrow it will be your birthday” they told us, kindly.
I’m always happy to be there, I feel really at home.
Actually the coat hung up on the clothes tree is mine…
